Looking for authenticity? You need to get yourself down to John Simons and specifically for these 1960s archive button-down shirts while they are still around.

These popped up on my Twitter feed this morning, prompting me up immediately chase up JS about them. They are rather special.

That’s because these raglan shirts have been recreated from the John Simons archive using a design that was sold in the Ivy Shop, Richmond in the late 1960s. Exact copies, made in London in very limited numbers. That’s why they are so special.

Check out the images and of course the details and finishes in the images here. Or if you are near the store, pop in and check them out at close quarters.

The one downside right now is that you can’t order them online. But you can give the shop a call on 020 3490 2729 if you want to get one mail order. Each one sells for £99. Perhaps enquire about the sizing too when you do call as JS shirts can sometimes come up on the large side for some people.
