Paul Weller's New York Review

by Modculture 14 November, 2006

Weller2_2 Paul Weller is doing three heavily sponsored shows in New York, showcasing music from his entire career to promote the release of the Hit Parade box set. Each night at the Irving Plaza will focus on a specific time period:

Monday January 29th – An Evening with Paul Weller featuring Jam Classics
Tuesday January 30th – An Evening with Paul Weller featuring Style Council Classics
Wednesday January 31st – An Evening with Paul Weller – featuring songs from his entire career

The shows are exclusive to the U.S. – so don’t expect the same corporate-style events elsewhere. Tickets go on sale on Friday November 17th at www.ticketmaster.com or www.livenation.com at Noon EST. If you miss out, you can catch him on Late Night With Conan O’Brien on February 1st.

Recently saw Weller in the Olympia Dublin Nov. 06 just before his New york shows.Fantastic gig nice to see more Jam gems in the set,the likes of Running on the Spot and Thick as Thieves,In the Crowd to name a few.Glad he’s got over his hang-up about the old tunes, wish he would do Ghosts it used to be a mainstable of their live set with the Jam,someday maybe and hopefully I’ll be in the crowd.

23 November 2006 – Sheffield Octagon – Intense! Highlight for me was Thick as Thieves – to watch the crowd “BOUNCE” was fantastic!
