If you are a Who fan, you could treat yourself to an early Christmas present – Keith Moon’s 1964 Ludwig drum kit, which is up for auction at Bonhams.
According to the auction listing, it is a Ludwig Super Classic drum kit from 1964 with black oyster pearl finish, comprising 22inch bass drum (serial no. 7267), fitted with Rogers Swiv-O-Matic cymbal stand, 13inch mounted tom tom (serial no. 9097), and 16inch floor tom tom (serial no. 5404), bass front skin with Ludwig logo transfer, together with two keys.
The kit was apparently first used this kit when the High Numbers appeared at the Scene Club in central London, 22nd July 1964, with the last known date of use being 23rd May 1965, for the Who’s Thank Your Lucky Stars appearance.
Estimate? £15,000 – £20,000.
