Been looking forward to this returning for a while. The Roe 1960s funnel neck zip cardigan by Art Gallery Clothing.
You might recall this being in the AGC range back in 2022, albeit in a different set of colours. The sort of jacket (if you want to call it one) that’s ideal for a winter-into-spring layer or as a jacket when the weather warms up a bit. Or just a winter layer when the temperatures drop. Like now.
It is based loosely on a vintage track jacket – you can probably see a bit of the England 1966 jacket here. It also reminds me a touch of that wonderful recent reissue of the 1960s Inter jacket by COPA of late.
As I said, you could call it a jacket, but it’s probably more of a zip-through funnel neck cardigan in a choice of three colours, with each of the 100 per cent cotton tops made with a seven gauge yarn and each with a full zip front and contrasting striped collar, cuffs and hem. That’s it, really. Just enough detail to stand out, which is what makes it work.
As you can see, the new colours available are a navy blue, forest green and a football-friendly claret and blue. They are all available to order right now, too, in a full range of sizes, priced at £89. Which is the same price as a couple of years back.
