On the more affordable end of things to start with, the two colours available have dropped into the sale at Stuarts, which is good news if you are looking for one.

The deal breaker is whether you like the style of the jacket and whether you are willing to wear a logo. Of course, it’s always in the detail, so compare and contrast with your favoured Harrington to see if it works for you. As for the logo, only you can decide on that. I’ve never been a logo person, but I know some people don’t mind them.

There are three variations available, the two plain colours of beige and navy blue, as well as a check version that comes in a little more expensive. But not that much.

Anyway, a button-up collar, ribbed detailing on the inside of the collar, concealed front zip, an embroidered Gabicci brand patch, side flap pockets with button closure, ribbed cuffs and hem, scalloped back yoke, an internal pocket and a tartan lining. Note also a special mill finish has been applied to the fabric for resistance against rain and stains.
