These Scene 1960s-style crew neck sweaters by Art Gallery Clothing are actually a taster of something else I’m working on.
That’s an article on Mod football shirts, which will become clearer in the coming weeks. But suffice to say, there are some football shirts in the past that look like Mod casual wear and I’ll be looking at that, all being well.
I mentioned it to Alex at AGC, as he has form for producing that kind of top. And he told me had had a new range of such tops appearing, which is where the Scene range comes in.
The tops/knits/sweaters (take your pick from any of those) under the Scene name are very much in that mould. Specifically, they have the look of the West Ham shirts of the 1960s (aka Thames Ironworks tops). You can see those here if you are interested.
But the tops here are not football shirts. They run with the stripe design, but using it with a cotton crew neck sweater. A decent option as the weather starts to get a little colder.
A few colours to choose from, but they are limited editions and as such, will not be around forever. Some of the colours pictured here are available now, with others likely to follow on soon. So keep an eye on the website if you can’t see your favourite just yet.
As for the price, the Scene top sells for £69 directly from the maker.
