I know it isn’t cheap, but I still love this 1960s-style Beams Plus Suede Type I Trucker Jacket.
If you haven’t heard of Beams Plus before, it’s a Japanese company that specialises reworking classic designs, particularly 1960s and ivy league styles and indeed fits, with most designs particularly shirts, having a slim (but not too slim) cut.
This is one of the former, its version of the classic 1960s trucker, made from a ‘chrome tanned goat leather’ with a suede exterior and nappa lining, which is designed to age and patina perfectly with wear. It also has a classic cropped shape, two chest pockets, adjustable cuffs dam hen plus branded buttons.
As I said, not cheap at £435, although it does come in cheaper than the versions from both Levi’s and Aero Leather. Saying that, both of those styles differ slightly, so not really a direct comparison.
