Now, this is a treat. After quite an absence, the 1960s Adidas Japan trainers are returning to the shelves.

Update:
There has just been a full and likely final restock of the Adidas Japan trainers in white at Size? website
All sizes in brown are also available at End Clothing.
Not only a treat in the original colourway, the Adidas Japan is also being offered in a rather fetching brown variation, and I’ll be honest, I think I prefer that to the original white and red. Although that might be because I still have the white and red in a box unworn from the last reissue!

As always, demand will exceed supply, and you can expect these to sell out before the week is out. This is always a massively popular reissue, particularly on the Mod scene. In fact, it had an honourable mention in my 10 of the best 1960s-style trainers round-up some time back.

As you probably know, this is a shoe that first made its mark back in 1964 when it was launched at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. It has been reissued since and each time it comes back it is a hugely popular shoe. Especially when the reissue is faithful to the original design.

The last reissue was a premium one in a ‘buttery-soft’ kangaroo leather. But this one is a standard leather reissue and a touch cheaper than the last one as a result. The design, however, remains unchanged, thankfully.

This is a slim, low-profile shoe in white and red, complete with branding on the side in gold foil, a leather pull tab on the heel, and an off-white, slim sole unit that isn’t going to offer lots of grip, but makes up for it in style.

Alternatively, go for the same style in that brown leather finish, matched up with white details, the gold branding and again, the slim sole. It’s a great variation and I’m sorely tempted by a pair because I know I’ll regret not buying when they sell out – and when they come into their own in the warmer weather.

Both styles have just landed, and some sizes are already in short supply, so don’t hang around. The links you need are below and the price of each is £100.
