Paul Weller bassist as well as musician in his own right and top-notch DJ Andy Lewis has a new mini album coming out, going by the name of 41.
Seven songs on the album, written and recorded during the last fortnight of 2010: 'In the space between getting home from my touring duties with Paul Weller in mid-December and the end of 2010, I found myself gifted with a particularly hyperactive musical imagination. New musical ideas and lyrics were coming to me on an almost daily basis. I set myself a bit of a challenge to see how many of them I could turn into complete songs before the year was out. I expected to finish about one or two, and put the others on the back burner, maybe forever. I ended up finishing seven.'
The result (to these ears) is a selection of 60s-inspired pop, which will be released by Acid Jazz and available top buy via iTunes from February 7th 2011. Alternatively, it will be for sale in a physical format around mid-March.
