On Saturday 27th August, which is during the bank holiday weekend, you’ll find the Da Doo Ron Ron Special in Brighton, with a special guest DJ.

That grist is Rhoda Dakar, ex of the Special AKA band The Bodysnatchers, who will be spinning a selection suited for the club’s playlist, which is described as ‘femme pop, sisterly soul ‘n’ funk, girlgroup dramarama & chicks with licks, spanning the 1950s, Swingin’ 60s and early-to-mid 70s.’ In short, vintage girl pop, beat and soul.

It takes place at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar (ex Jam), 9 – 12, Middle Street, Brighton, BN1 1UN, taking place from 10pm until 3am. Tickets are £5 in advance, £7 on the door. You can get tickets here.
