Capirari always does some lovely clothing, and this Drake 1960s-style polo cardigan is no exception.

You might have seen this being promoted as a pre-order via the maker’s social media, and if you did, you might have one right now. If not, the knit has just gone online at the website in a choice of the two colours you see here.

A great-looking vintage knit, too, from one of my top 25 Mod labels in the 21st century. No, it doesn’t come cheap, but there’s a reason for that. This isn’t cheap, disposable clothing. This is small-run knitwear, made to a high standard and made to last. Buy well and buy once.

A 1960s-style cardigan, it has a full-button front (covered buttons, of course), a contrast front, ribbed trims, and what’s described as a ‘classic’ fit, which seems fitted in the style of the era that inspired it.

Each one is handcrafted in Italy and made from premium (7 gauge) Tollegno extra fine merino wool, with the two colours very much in keeping with the 1960s.

It’s the kind of knitwear that’s perfect as we enter spring and possibly summer. Lighter, stylish, and good to wear on its own or under a jacket, depending on the temperature.

As I said, it is not cheap with a price of €190, but look after it and it will be with you for many years.
