An Adidas classic of the past – but the limited edition Adidas Bern GTX trainers look a little different here.
You might know the Adidas Bern from the 1970s City Series incarnation that has been reissued in the fairly recent past. That shoe was in blue suede, but the shape was pretty much the same here.
So a similar shape, but a very different finish. This one has been created as a tribute to the 70th anniversary of (West) Germany’s victory in the 1954 World Cup final, which took place in, you guessed it, Bern.
With that in mind, the shoe has had a vintage makeover in brown leather to create something more akin to a sports shoe of the mid-20th century. But there’s than that too.
As the name suggests, this shoe has a premium leather upper, metal eyelets, and contrasting leather accents, but also a Gore-Tex membrane to add in some water resistance for this time of the year.
All of which looks quite impressive. As you might have guessed, this is a limited edition and a design unlikely to return again. if you want a pair on your feet or in your collection, the price is £110.
