Prices vary, but it never comes cheap. I’m talking about the Sunday Times Changing Faces Mods issue on eBay from 1964, which is available now.
The magazine ran back on 2nd August 1964 and is now quite the rarity. The 8-page Changing Faces article was about mods and rockers, the work of Robert Freeman and Kathleen Halton.
It is available to read online (at least in part) on the Jack That Cat Was Clean website. A much-loved blog that is well worth some further exploration if you have a bit of time on your hands.
But if you want the real thing, this copy is available online. Or at least, it is until someone decides to pay the asking price. Yes, this is s ‘Buy it Now’ rather than an auction. Think I prefer an auction, but at least this way you know the bottom line price.
As I said, prices vary and have come down a bit of late for some reason. Maybe because more copies are coming up for sale. But this is still a rare and sought-after piece of Mod memorabilia, so never a cheap purchase.
Condition plays a part in terms of the price too. This one is described as ‘a fully intact copy’ in ‘very good condition’, with pages described as showing ‘discolouration/tanning’. Hardly surprised when you consider how old this is and the fact that it was never meant to be around for more than a couple of days.
The ‘Buy it Now’ price? This is up for £75.
