You might already own a copy, although the original has been out of print for a little while. If you don’t, you can pre-order the new Here Come The Nice – A Small Faces Song Book by John Hellier and Paul Weller.
As the above indicates, this was a joint affair between John Hellier and Weller, with PW selecting his favourite 15 numbers and giving his reasons why. Of course, there’s also he annotation, chord boxes and guitar tablature for each song too.
But it isn’t just a musician’s book. It’s also a bit of a coffee table book for fans of the band, including images, a mini biography, interviews and more.
This new version, 10 years after the original, keeps the same formula, but changes the cover, adds lots of new photos and a foreword from Ronnie Wood, along with a lengthy interview with their 1960s fan club secretary Pauline Corcoran, who pretty much lived and worked with the band.
Pre-orders are now available, with part of the proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust. The 132-page book retails for £18.99.
