With the sun shining, it makes sense to check out the updated range of Mod and 60s t-shirts from Mr B’s Soulful Tees.
This is updated because I first encountered this range some years back, and I have to say, the label has gone from strength to strength since then. Expanding the range, the subject matter, and the type of garments you can purchase from this maker and seller.
By that, I mean you can now buy sweatshirts and long-sleeved t-shirts. But when the sun is out, you probably want the t-shirts – and that’s still the overriding ‘format’ here.
With regard to the subject matter has widened, that’s because you can now get t-shirts and tops with a strong ivy league influence, some based on 1960s classic design, scooter t-shirts, northern soul, Mod revival, Britpop and more. None of which is a bad thing. But Mod is still the dominant force here.
From designs worn by Mods (and Mod bands) in the 1960s, record labels, band logos, club logos, plus some original designs too. In fact, the original designs are getting more plentiful by the month, which is no bad thing. There are pushing 200 t-shirt designs here right now, so I would hope something that would catch your eye is available within the range.
There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to have a browse at the current range – and buy the one you like. As I said, the range has changed over the years, and t-shirts popular in the past are no longer offered for sale. So if you see something, perhaps pick it up before it disappears.
A selection of those designs is pictured here, which I hope gives an overview of what’s on offer right now.
So ‘60s names like the St Louis Union, High Numbers, and Artwoods, plus acts from a little later, like The Chords and the Style Council. Shirts featuring imagery used by The Who are also here, and you might have spotted some club logos as well as Ready Steady Go imagery. That pretty much gives you a taste of what’s on offer – but a browse of the site is far better.
All in pretty much any size you need and, in many cases, a choice of t-shirt colour as well. No, you don’t have to go for a white t-shirt if you don’t want one. And for me, that’s a massive plus as they can be a pain to keep that colour.
Prices, you ask? Firmly in the land of affordable. Expect to pay something like £22 for a t-shirt. A little more for a long-sleeve t-shirt and a sweatshirt for around £38 (those having a bump in quality of late).
A wallet-friendly way of keeping cool this summer and beyond.

Sorry not buying from a company that disrespects The Beatles!
very nice.
The Beatles and Brian Epstein wore those shirts. It’s not disrespectful, it’s knowing your history.
Curtis (see above), that Beatles tee is from when they were burning Beatles records in the south (in the U.S.) in response to John Lennon’s comments. I’m a huge Beatles fan and would definitely buy this. It’s just funny now and a quaint reminder of sadder times. Brian and George even had them and Brian’s original one went for thousands at auction. It’s not disrespectful. BTW, all the shirts look cool.
Sorry, David! I didn’t look at the shirt’s history, but I have now calm down about it! I saw Weller with that shirt too, and he’s also a Beatles’ fan! It really confused me when I saw it at first, but then you explained it and now I completely understand! Actually, with all the Beatles shirts I see people wearing nowadays, I think this one would be a great way to oppose to that trend! I might considered myself in buying one! Thank you to Mark and David for the detailed explanation!!
