The new year is much improved with the launch of The Prisoners – Don’t Burst My Bubble 7-inch vinyl.

Actually, it’s a double header of Don’t Burst My Bubble and Ain’t No Telling, with both available to pre-order now ahead of the official 26th January release date via the Countdown imprint through Acid Jazz.

Yes, two covers. Of course, you probably know Don’t Burst My Bubble is a Small Faces cover, but less obvious is the flipside, which is a track probably better known by Jimi Hendrix.

And it’s back on Countdown Records, which was founded in the ’80s by Eddie Piller, Maxine Conroy and Terry Rawlings, the aim of which was to document a generation of Mod and ‘60s revival artists that were making waves at the time. The Prisoners were probably one of the best – if not THE best.

A limited edition, it is being released ahead of the band’s live show at the iconic Round House, London, on Friday, 24th May 2024. You can get tickets for that here.
