First heard about this documentary on Paul Gorman’s blog back in February, but nothing since. However, browsing the new listings for the BFI, spotted a world premiere for Dexys – Nowhere Is Home in May.
According to the BFI, BAFTA award winner Kieran Evans and Paul Kelly have produced a movie / documentary (take your pick) that was filmed over the final nights of Dexys’ residency at the Duke Of York’s Theatre in London last spring, capturing songs from those theatrical shows (mainly from the band’s recent album One Day I’m Going To Soar), interspersed with revealing interviews with Kevin Rowland and Jim Paterson that details the story of the band.
If you are a fan, you’ll want a ticket for this world premiere, not least because there’s also a Q&A with Kevin Rowland, Jim Paterson and the people behind Nowhere Is Home.
The date for your diary is 9th May 2014, with tickets available here. Check out a trailer below too.
