Remember when the 100 Club went up for sale and Converse came in to buy it? Well, now we know what it is doing with it – free gigs.
Over July and August, a series of gigs called Converse: Represent will feature a host of bands, some good, some not so good. But one will be of particular interest we suspect.
On August 1st, Paul Weller will be headlining a show at the 100 Club, with support from Spiritualized, Japandroids, 02:54 and Towns. A week later (August 8th) and perhaps also of interest is another freebie featuring Toots & the Maytals, Natty, The Heatwave and the rather good Janice Graham Band.
That’s just two of 10 gigs that take place over 10 days, you can get the lowdown via the promotional video relating to the event below.
As for tickets, they are competition only – head to the website and sign up for three gigs, in preference order, with the ticketed being offered out from 16th July onwards to the lucky few.
