I’m usually on the fence when it comes to Gabicci. Sometimes their designs are a bit ‘much’ but on other occasions they go more understated and get it right. Which is how I’m looking at this particular design.

Gabicci often has another selling point compared to its competition. Their designs tend to come in a little cheaper. That’s usually down to construction. This isn’t a wool knit, it’s a mix of cotton and acrylic, which is pretty standard for the brand.

But it is an eye-catching retro design with a strong 1960s vibe. A long-sleeved, knitted cardigan-style top with a contrasting collar and placket that has a tonal dogtooth design

Note also the branded zip pull and the trademark metal ‘G’ on the chest. Enough detail without being too much.

It’s a new release and as such, all the sizes are currently available. They run through from small through to XXL. Another thing to note – this is at Stuarts of London, which is doing a 25 per cent off deal across much of its range. Use the code TREAT25 , and you’ll get the discount.

Which means it will come in much cheaper than the list price of £80.
