It’s a look you struggle to find new, so I suspect there’s a strong market for the Eleanor 1960s-style slingback shoes at Modshoes.
There’s an almost endless queue of 1960s dressmakers these days (I’ve pulled a few together here if you want that), but with shoes, that’s a harder find. Perhaps because it’s not easy sitting at home creating shoes, so there’s the cottage industry in the same way as 1960s clothing designs.
But retro and vintage shoes are the big selling point of Modshoes, which has plenty on its racks. But none, until now, quite like the ones here.
The ‘flat’ shoe doesn’t get as much of a look in despite its strong look and practicality. So it’s good to see a style on the shelves of the retailer, one that’s based on an original 1960s design.
You can now choose from four colour options: the bold and eye-catching orange finish with brown detail or the more subtle black finish with white details were launched a few months back. They have now been joined by a light blue and navy and a white and golden yellow. All have a consistent design and are finished with a half-inch heel.
Limited editions and only available directly from the marker/seller, the Eleanor 1960s-style slingback shoes are available for £67.99.
