Celebrating 45 years since the first one, the Mods Mayday 2024 event takes place in London in May 2024.
If you are a fan of the Mod revival era (and associated sounds that followed), this should be right up your street.
Taking place at 229, which is at 229 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PN, this is an all-day event (3pm until 11pm), taking in four indoor rooms and one outdoor space.
Room 1 features live performances from Secret Affair, Purple Hearts, Nine Below Zero, The Chords UK, The Rage, The Circles and The Jam’d.
Room 2 features live performances from Squire, Block 33, The Len Price 3, The Molotovs, The Chelsea Curve (USA), Sharp Class, and The Mark Three.
Room 3 is to get to know some of the faces of that scene, with exclusive Q&A’s with Rick Buckler, legendary drummer and founding member of The Jam, as well as Eddie Piller discussing his ‘Clean Living Under Difficult Circumstances’ book. There are also Mod films and documentaries available here.
Room 4 is described as ‘Our Favourite Shop’, featuring exclusive merchandise from all of the artists along with record and clothing stalls.
On top of that, there is an outdoor area with Mod DJs and a bar to enjoy the 2024 summer weather (if that plays ball) in between the acts.
